Mark Carpenter is a business communications specialist with more than two decades of experience helping individuals and organizations get better results. He has worked in banking, high tech and education in positions including internal communications, community relations, marketing communications and media relations. He has created crisis communications plans, hosted an internal video news magazine, developed business and community partnerships, written speeches and scripts, and managed sponsorships and special events. He also has presented sessions at national public relations and communications conferences, including the PRSA international conference.
Mark is now leveraging his experience to teach businesses and individuals to get better results by addressing difficult issues more effectively as a certified trainer of the award-winning Crucial Conversations and Crucial Confrontations courses. He has worked with companies from mining and manufacturing to mortgage lending, from software to sporting goods, and from farm equipment to financial services. Mark has helped companies increase cross-functional teaming, strengthen management skills, improve employee relations, and reduce the time required to make decisions.
He also serves as an adjunct professor in the Communications Department at Brigham Young University, where he teaches Public Relations Writing & Production classes. In addition, Mark enjoys writing children’s books and composing music for piano and voice.
