Hawk
Jon Hawkins is a former Politis team member. In his six years of experience in the PR industry, he has worked with numerous clients and campaigns. His experiences have provided him with great insight and a mind for professional business communications.
Hawkins developed his strategic mindset early on in his professional career at Edelman in Washington, D.C. Working closely with some of the greatest minds in the profession, such as the late former Reagan assistant Michael K. Deaver, newly appointed D.C. chairman Rob Rehg and Public Affairs EVP Jeffrey Surrell, Hawkins learned the strategy behind successful campaigns. And under the tutelage of media relations mastermind Craig Brownstein, he developed a knack for getting media placements for clients.
Hawkins groomed his PR skills by serving as an integral part of several successful, nationally and internationally recognized campaigns such as the 9/11 Commission Report release, the National Endowment for the Arts’ Shakespeare in American Communities initiative and the 2002 Winter Olympic Games’ Torch Relay Media Relations team.
As a graduate from Brigham Young University, Hawkins holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, with an emphasis in public relations. He and his wife Mary have two beautiful daughters, and currently reside in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
In his spare time, Hawkins loves to participate in athletics, including weekly basketball and flag football games, frequent jogs and not-frequent-enough golf outings. He also loves to cheer on BYU in whatever sport they’re participating in.
