“Poppa P” is easier to say, and less intimidating than, Mr. Politis. So Poppa P was the nickname given to David Politis in 1997 by the street team members working on his daughter’s nascent recording career. And it’s the name his teenage kids have used since to introduce their dad to their friends.
So when David learned that the “real” first name of his new partner at SOAR Communications, Chip Smith, was actually Stanford, David decided to use Poppa P as his “handle” for SOAR-related work.
As the founder, CEO and managing member of SOAR Communications, LLC, Poppa P has helped clients in the Sports, Outdoor, Athletics and Recreation industries generate media coverage outside of their industry-specific media outlets, including stories in Wired, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Salt Lake Tribune, the Sacramento Bee, Outside, the Houston Chronicle, Gizmodo, Gadgetell, the Deseret Morning News, The Denver Post, and CNET, just to name a few. Central to these efforts has been his relentless focus on simplify client messages for all prospective customers and partners in all marketing communications campaigns and programs.
And from a personal standpoint, Poppa P has been involved in a variety of outdoor, recreational and sports/athletics activities for years, ranging from fly fishing and coaching Little League football to refereeing basketball games and backpacking.
