Lindsay Thomson is the “Cruise Director” of Politis Communications, making sure the fun details of every assignment are covered. She eagerly takes on client projects while helping to solve the tiny, everyday problems that confront her fellow employees.
Lindsay realized her passion for public relations during summer breaks from college while interning in New York City with the independent entertainment company Razor & Tie Entertainment. While excited for the opportunity to work closely with her favorite musicians, she quickly realized her interest in the ways media relations and communications can shape a company’s image in the public eye. By working directly under public relations professionals from such companies as Sony and Columbia Records, she was hooked.
She has finessed her media relations writing skills at Utah State University’s Public Relations & Marketing Office while writing news releases, publishing articles and feature stories for the University’s online publication and dabbling in photojournalism. Before joining the Politis team, Lindsay worked on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” where she devoted hundreds of hours of pro bono public relations work to promote, garner public awareness and raise charitable funds for the Pauni family in Logan, Utah. It was there that she dazzled her future boss with her ability to effortlessly solve problems, handle high-stress media relations situations, meet tight deadlines and give back to her community.
Lindsay graduated from Utah State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Communications with an emphasis in public relations. Only a year out of college and living in Salt Lake City, Lindsay has already come face-to-face with innumerable public relations and marketing communications experiences and has been given the opportunity to travel . . . she can’t wait for more.
