Canadian Bacon

Jon BaconBorn and raised ‘north o’ the border’ in Toronto, Canada, Jonathan “Canadian” Bacon brings his own unique perspectives and pronunciations to the Politis Communications team. As an integral part of the office, he brings an alternative, international perspective and style in order to generate positive marketing communications results for his clients.

Canadian Bacon came to Politis Communications because of the opportunity to focus his communication skills in the technology marketplace. But before his quantum shift to technology, his background was focused primarily on the health and lifestyle industry, although he worked on campaigns for clients from the real estate and government sectors as well. Bacon has been involved with communications campaigns for clients from many sectors including, non-profits, publicly traded companies and nationally recognized companies and brands including IHOP and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (during its 2006 visit to Logan, Utah).

Like any respectable Canuck, Bacon worked hard while in college to get the most out of his education by serving as the Brigham Young University (BYU) Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter president, as well as serving an internship in Washington, D.C., at the Embassy of France’s Press and Information Office. He currently serves on the board of the Public Relations Society of America, New Professionals affinity group as its national treasurer.

A graduate of BYU’s acclaimed PR program, he and his wife Michelle have two sons and currently reside in Lehi, Utah. When Bacon is not working, he enjoys reminiscing of his old life in Canada, watching sports like hockey and basketball (both invented by Canadians) and correcting people on the proper use of the Canadian exclamation, “eh!”
